Young Adult Issues

“ Make your life a masterpiece; imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do” –Brian Tracy

According to SELF Magazine, “The quarter-life crisis is a period of life ranging from twenties to thirties, in which a person begins to feel doubtful about their own lives, brought on by the stress of becoming an adult.”

The quarter-life crisis is no longer the exception…it’s the norm. Young people are faced with so much input from social media and other sources. You’re constantly bombarded by what’s possible and what’s problematic in the world and having to decide where you fit into all of it. Even though there is so much opportunity for you, there are more stressors to navigate than ever before.

Here are just a few of the “common” stressors young people face:

  • “Comparitis”: Do you feel bad about yourself when you compare yourself to your peers, often due to social media? Do you see yourself underperforming and feel like something is wrong with you?

  • Relationship problems: Are you still stuck at home after graduating college? Do you feel like your parents treat you like a child and not as an adult? Maybe you’re having problems with your significant other and not sure whether you should end the relationship. Are you feeling the pressure of finding a partner at this time in your life?

  • Career questions: Have you been on a path throughout your life doing all of the things your parents and teachers told you to do to be successful? Good grades in high school and college got you to land that job after college – but you found that after all of that something is still missing.

  • Workplace stress: Are you having problems getting along with a difficult boss or coworkers? Are you anxious or worried about your performance? Not getting any feedback?

Maybe you found that despite having a real “adult” job, you are not happy with the work, the company, or simply the daily grind. Maybe you have incurred a lot of student loan debt. These thoughts can create anxiety about your future.

If you relate to any of these stressors, you’re in the majority of young people that are feeling increasingly stressed and confused about their future.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. With the right type of support and guidance you can alleviate this way of struggling and find your way in the world.

When we work together, we will pinpoint the specific stressors in your life that need immediate attention. I will guide you to a place of empowerment, certainty, comfort, and direction. Maybe for the first time, you’ll be able to talk about your opinions and feelings without judgement.

I would be honored to serve as your guide and help you develop solutions as you take the steps you need to move forward.

This can be a very confusing and challenging time in your life. There’s no need to go through it alone.
